This creates a wound repair response and your skin enters a repairing process. Dependant on the depth of penetration we will either be working in the Epidermis (upper layers of the skin), or Dermis (lower layers of the skin). When working in the Epidermis, micro wounds release Growth Factors which can assist with the desquamation of pigmentation, assist to expel congestion, and help to assist in creating normal cellular function (almost like hitting the reset button).
